Safe Standing
What is safe standing?
Coopers Stadium is pleased to introduce a dedicated safe standing active supporters’ area, available as general admission from the A-Leagues’ 2024/25 season onwards.
Developed in consultation with Adelaide United and the Red Army supporters’ group, the safe standing zone will comprise two bays behind the Stadium’s northern goals (N13 and N14). This zone supports the Red Army supporters’ group, who seek a safe and acceptable environment to stand and cheer, generating maximum atmosphere and vibrancy for home games.
Rails have been installed in these designated bays, and seats within this zone will be locked to form temporary terraces for A-Leagues games.
The safe standing bays will be readjusted (i.e., seats unlocked) for other events at the Stadium, such as music concerts.
How do I select a safe standing ticket?
Adelaide United ‘Red Membership’ includes General Admission access to the North stand and will allow members to take up a position in the safe standing sections N13 and N14.
Fans also interested in watching the game from the safe standing zone (N13 and N14) must purchase a General Admission – North ticket.
General admission in this area is on a first come, first served basis, so we highly recommend arriving at the Stadium early if the intention is to watch the game from the safe standing zone.
How many tickets are available in the safe standing zone?
Coopers Stadium’s safe standing zone comprises two bays behind the northern goals – N13 and N14. In total, this includes standing spaces for 318 fans.
Each fan with a General Admission – North ticket is allocated space equivalent of one seat. General admission in this area is on a first come, first served basis, so we highly recommend arriving at the Stadium early if the intention is to watch the game from the safe standing zone.
Stadium management and security will be closely monitoring the safe standing bays to ensure capacity is not exceeded.
How are you going to prevent overcrowding in the dedicated safe standing bays?
The introduction of safe standing will not change Stadium capacity – each fan is allocated space equivalent of one seat.
Stadium management and security will be closely monitoring the safe standing bays to ensure capacity is not exceeded.
What about fans who wish to remain seated during games?
Safe standing has been introduced to two bays only, in the active supporters’ area behind the northern goals (N13 and N14).
There remains a large, seated area with prime viewing from the Northern Stand for fans who do not wish to stand.
The 318 sets dedicated to safe standing represents just 2 percent of total Stadium capacity.
What are the accessibility provisions in the Northern Stand?
The introduction of safe standing zones to Coopers Stadium’s Northern Stand has not compromised the provisions for accessible seating for wheelchair users in any way.
There are 10 accessible spaces for wheelchair users available in prime locations in the Northern Stand.
For all accessible seating ticketing and enquiries, please complete an Accessible Seating Booking Form or phone 1300 665 915. Alternatively, you can book via a Ticketek Agency or at the Stadium Ticket Offices (open on game days only from 90 minutes prior to kick-off).
